Hiue

(Pronounced "Hee-way" , for anyone that cares) . Yes, I finally finished this! Here's one of my characters in a kind of anime-ish style. I'm experimenting with coloring and design. And this was done on many Sundays to keep me sane. This has been an incredibly busy, hectic few months!

Oh, on a minor note, Hiue's eyes look the way they do because he was born with a "third eyelid", an inherited characteristic passed down through lines of his people that lived in cold climates. Desert dwellers also have this. The third eyelid snaps into place to protect the eye from sand and snowstorms, while still allowing the person to see clearly. From the outside, it looks kind of milky, and hides the pupil, which is why his eye looks that way in this pic. Hiue can put it up or down, but he often just leaves it up, even when there isn't any danger, because he tends to be overly-cautious. Plus, it can have a masking effect on one's emotions as seen through the eyes.
