Another pony! These are fun to do

This is a commission for of their pony character, Night Rain. and I worked out the details of Night Rain's updated look; changing his mane-style, adding a silver streak to his normally black hair, as well as a necklace and feathers. The feathers were a gift from Rainbow Dash

wrote this about the character:

"This is Night Rain, a character in a story I'm working on, and an aspiring writer himself - or an aspiring worldbuilder, at least. His talent is creating ideas, but actually writing them is a little harder - mostly because of his lack of drive, which has also caused problems for him outside of writing. He's also shy and doesn't like standing out, and for a while his appearance reflected that - he's only recently gotten the stripe in his mane and tail, the ponytail with tie, and the pendent. For a while it seemed he would just be a background pony, unassuming in appearance and meek in personality.

"But one day he visited Ponyville, curious about the "magic of friendship" that had saved Equestria so many times - and ran into (or, rather, was ran into by) Rainbow Dash. The two started talking about Daring Do, and fanfiction, and before Night knew it, he was recruited as Rainbow Dash's editor. As the two spent time first as co-writers and then as friends, Night Rain started falling in love with her... but he knew that, as his usual meek self, he'd never have a chance to impress her - and he'd never be truly happy, either, forever held back by his shyness and his fears. Inspired by her confidence, her ambition, and her success, he made up his mind to change himself, to be more outgoing, and to try to reach for his dreams rather than holding back, afraid of failure.

"This reference is of Night Rain after a few months of going out with RD. In keeping with trying to be more assertive about his dreams and goals, he's decided (with a bit of help from RD) to spruce up his appearance a bit, so he can look more like the pony he wants to be - and so he looks how he feels inside. But with RD, he'll always be just a little shy, just a little awestruck, and always kind, determined, and loyal."
